Macy’s names new general business manager, center core and beauty
Macy’s announced on Tuesday the promotion of Julie Walsh as senior vice president, general business manager of center core and beauty.
Walsh currently serves as Macy’s vice president, divisional business manager for fragrances where she was responsible for building and growing the fragrance business.
In her new role, she will be responsible for leading and driving the center core and beauty merchandise organization, including beauty, jewelry, handbags, shoes and accessories.
“I am so excited to share Julie’s promotion. As a member of our merchant organization for over two decades, we have watched her grow in her career and excel in advancing our strategy,” said Nata Dvir, chief merchandising officer of Macy’s, whom Walsh will report to.
“Julie brings a wealth of experience to this role with her already-established vendor relationships among many of the Center Core and Beauty categories. I am confident that her leadership, collaborative approach and ability to create meaningful experiences in-store and online through best-in-class product offerings will continue to help drive this business forward.”
Prior to working in Fragrances, Walsh held various leadership positions within Macy’s merchant organization, including experience in fine jewelry, and prestige cosmetics, where she led high-visibility brand launches and experiential store activations. She began her career as an executive trainee at Macy’s.
