Snoop Dogg relaunches Death Row Records with cannabis, music and fashion
A little less than a year after acquiring the label Death Row Records from MNRK Music Group, a label launched in 1991 by Dr. Dre, Suge Knight and Dick Griffey, and which had a great success thanks to the launch of hip-hop albums of the West Coast, as well as those made by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg or 2pac, the artist Snoop Dogg has announced his relaunch in a cultural platform blending music, fashion and cannabis.
Announced on the music label’s social media a few days ago, the launch of the first cannabis drop uses an animation of the company’s world-renowned logo and reveals its branded pre-roll tube.
Promising to return Death Row to its former glory, all elements of the old label have been repurposed for today’s audience and their ever-changing tastes. The first shipment comes in commemorative limited-edition metal bags, with the iconic hooded prisoner figure sitting in an electric chair on the front.
Launching in stores this week, Death Row Cannabis is not one to keep its fans waiting. The brand will soon announce the exact date and locations of its first delivery. Select cookies stores in California (Brentwood, San Bernardino and San Diego) will be the first to carry Death Row Cannabis. “Other stores and other states will follow soon,” mentioned the brand.
As for the fashion part, Snoop Dogg revealed during the Christmas holidays some limited-edition pieces including sweaters, T-shirts and hoodies. Other novelties should be proposed soon.
