As much as we love our fur babies, there’s no doubt they can cause a ruckus while we’re away—and this is doubly true if you’ve inadvertently raised a pandemic pet (raises hand). Luckily for fellow helicopter pet parents out there, the Petcube Camera is an easy and WiFi-enabled way to check in on your little loves while you’re out … you know, living life. I came across it while perusing Amazon’s “Pet Supplies” section and proceeded to read comment after comment about it being absolutely clutch for parents wanting to keep an eye on their fur babies.
Worried about your pup tearing up your favorite pillows? Or maybe you’re trying to train your pets to finally stay out of your closet? Not a problem. The Petcube helps you tune-in in real-time and (hopefully) prevent a household mess from erupting. That’s right, no more nosey pups digging through your plants or piles of clothes—and we have some even better news to share. The camera is on sale for 20% off (!) on both days of Amazon Prime Day. Yep, you read that right.
So, how does it work? It’s simple. For starters, the set-up takes just one minute of your time by connecting it to your Wi-Fi network. Once that’s all set, you’ll want to download the official Petcube app for your iPhone or Android in order to start having fun with it. The app is where you can start to keep an eye on your dog or cat and get alerts thanks to the motion and sound-detecting functions. My favorite part, however, is the two-way audio so I can alert my dog when he’s up to no good, or if I just want to shout a quick hello! while I’m gone.
Wherever you place the camera at home is obviously up to you, but PetCube makes it super easy to zoom in and out of the frame to get a better view when needed (you get a wide-angle view too, so you can pretty much see it all). And, I can’t lie, the dog camera is really good at capturing some of your pet’s sweetest moments that you can save for later. With Petcube Care, an additional subscription perk, you can replay up to 90 days of camera activity and video recordings. (No judgment if you watch literally all of the footage in your free time.)
But what I love most is that it’s a lot more than just a security camera. It can actually help your pets stay safe. You can consult a veterinarian directly through the Petcube app’s vet chat function. From there, they can see your pet cam’s view in case they ever get sick or injured and you’re in need of an expert opinion.
If you’re not entirely sold on it just yet, just read what other pet parents have to say about it. Reviewer Tierra R. “work[s] really long nights” and doesn’t get off until the next morning, so the cam helps her play night watch. Kristen D. thinks the best selling point is “the fact that you can adjust the angle by rotating the box … now have a living room view and a kitchen view of my pets, instead of having to choose (and without breaking the bank).”
The latest Petcube camera is $29 for two days only during Amazon Prime Day. But, if you’re looking for a Petcube camera that doubles as a treat dispenser instead, the Petcube Bites 2 is also on sale during Prime Day. If you ask me (or the other 8,000+ five-star reviewers), there’s no better time to upgrade from old-school home security cameras to spy on your angel babies.
